To ask the Secretary of State for Defence (1) how many military training sorties were flown in each year since 1986 within 120 nautical miles of RAF Chivenor;

(2) how many military training sorties were flown in each year since 1986 within 40 nautical miles of RAF Chivenor;

(3) how many military training sorties were flown in each year since 1986 within 40 nautical miles of RAF Brawdy;

(4) how many military training sorties were flown in each year since 1986 within 120 nautical miles of RAF Brawdy.

With effect from 1 October 1989 RAF Chivenor moved from a 24-hour search and rescue service to day time only. The figures shown for night-time against Chivenor in 1990–92 relate to cases where SAR helicopters responded in daylight but returned to base after dark.
