To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what progress has been made on the EC eco-audit scheme.

I refer the hon. Member to the answer given by my right hon. and learned Friend on 20 January 1993 to my hon. Friend the Member for Rutland and Melton (Mr. Duncan) at column267, in which he reported that the Council had reached broad agreement to the proposal.

The Government hope that the proposal will be adopted during the Danish presidency.
