To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what was the annual yield from capital gains tax in each year since 1979–80.

The requested information is given in table 1.2 of the 1992 edition of "Inland Revenue Statistics". A revised estimate for the yield in 1992–93 will be published on Budget day in the "Financial Statement and Budget Report 1993–94".
