HC Deb 19 February 1993 vol 219 cc371-2W
Mr. Fraser

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment how many London boroughs have gone for more than six years without producing unqualified and completed audited accounts; and if he will list them.

Mr. Robin Squire

Information on whether accounts have been qualified is not held centrally by the Audit Commission for years prior to 1989–90. For each of the years 1989–90 to 1991–92 the following London boroughs have either not produced their accounts, have had no audit opinion on their accounts or have had their accounts qualified:

  • Brent
  • Camden
  • Greenwich
  • Hackney
  • Hammersmith and Fulham
  • Haringey
  • Hillingdon
  • Islington
  • Lambeth
  • Lewisham
  • Newham
  • Richmond upon Thames
  • Southwark
  • Tower Hamlets
  • Westminster

Audits are still in progress in some cases.
