HC Deb 18 February 1993 vol 219 cc303-4W
Mr. Sweeney

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what was the resident population of each police force area in England in 1981 and 1991; and what was the day-time working population for the City of London police force area in 1981 and 1991.

Mr. Sackville

I have been asked to reply.

Estimated resident populations of the police force areas in England in 1981 and 1991 are shown in the table. The day-time working population of the City of London was about 300,000 in 1981. The results from the 1991 census of population, which are required to provide a corresponding figure for that year, are expected later this year.
