125. Mr. Jim Cunningham

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what proposals he has received for schemes for inner city projects in Coventry which he does not propose to fund.

Mr. Robin Squire

We have received a number of proposals from Coventry along with other local authorities of support for inner city projects which we have not been able to assist. Clearly we do not have unlimited funds. However it is open to local authorities to support such projects through use of their capital receipts and any private sector or other contributions.
