Mr. Cox

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what has been the value of(a) money and (b) assets that have been confiscated from people convicted by courts in England and Wales for drug offences in each of the last three years.

The number of offenders ordered to pay confiscation orders under the Drug Trafficking Offences Act 1986 and the total amount confiscated from 1989 to 1991—figures for 1991 are provisional—are given in the table. Information collected centrally shows only the value of orders made.
