To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what testing takes place of imported fruit juice for toxic substances including patulin.

Responsibility for the general safety of imported food lies with the port health authorities and local authorities. Imported fruit juices are included in food surveillance programmes undertaken by the Ministry.
