Mr. Barry Jones

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what representations he has received concerning hill livestock compensatory allowances in Wales; and if he will make a statement.

I have received representations from Welsh Members of Parliament, the Welsh fanning organisations and individual farmers in respect of hill livestock compensatory allowance payments in Wales. I have also recently had meetings with two Welsh Members of Parliament, some farmers and representatives from the Welsh farming unions to discuss this matter.
