HC Deb 10 February 1993 vol 218 c682W
Mr. Streeter

To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what progress has been made on the implementation of the Sea Fish (Conservation) Act 1992.

Mr. Curry

I shall shortly be laying before Parliament an order setting out the principles on which days-at-sea allocations will be worked out. On the basis of this order, Fisheries Departments will issue provisional days-at-sea figures to fishermen, who will have an opportunity to comment on them before days-at-sea restrictions start to operate. All fishermen will have a further opportunity to make a formal appeal to the Sea Fish Licence Tribunal which is now being set up.

I am placing in the Library of the House today an information note giving further details.
