HL Deb 08 February 1993 vol 542 c34WA
Lord Vinson

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they intend by code of practice or other instrument to make it obligatory for companies to advise employees annually as to the transfer value of their pension.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of Social Security (Lord Henley)

The independent committee, set up under the chairmanship of Professor Goode to undertake a review of the legal and regulatory framework surrounding occupational pensions, is due to report in the summer. It would be premature for the Government to consider any changes until the committee's recommendations are assessed. Information on transfer values can currently be obtained at the request of the pension scheme member.
