To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what recent discussions he has had with local authorities regarding access to public transport for the disabled.

Mr. Freeman

My department is in close and regular touch with local authorities on a wide range of issues to improve services for the disabled including the introduction of low-floor buses, design standards for light rapid transit systems and accessible taxis.
