To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what assessment he has made of the impact of the autumn statement on business and consumer confidence.

The autumn statement was widely welcomed by business organisations. Recent survey evidence indicates that it has been followed by a marked improvement in both business and consumer confidence.
