HC Deb 03 February 1993 vol 218 c213W
Mr. Steen

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security when Miss Alison Freda Leahy of 18 Grove close, Totnes TQ9 SEP, reference NA 17 10 86 D, will hear the result of her application for disability living allowance submitted last May.

Mr. Scott

The administration of disability living allowance is a matter for Mr. Michael Bichard, the chief executive of the Benefits Agency. He will write to the hon. Member and a copy will be placed in the Library.

Letter from Mr. Michael Bichard to Mr. Anthony Steen, dated 2 February 1993. As Chief Executive of the Benefits Agency, it is my responsibility to answer questions about relevant operational matters. I am therefore replying to the points raised in your recent Parliamentary Question to the Secretary of State for Social Security asking when Miss Alison Freda Leahy will hear the result of her application for Disability Living Allowance (DLA), submitted last May. According to our records Miss Leahy claimed DLA in February 1992 and a decision was made on 13 April 1992. Unfortunately the letter informing Miss Leahy of the outcome of her claim does not appear to have been sent to her and for this I offer my sincere apologies. I can confirm that Miss Leahy has now been notified of the decision. I have replied to you separately in greater detail about her case. I hope you find this reply helpful. A copy will appear in the Official Report. A copy will also be placed in the Library.
