HC Deb 01 February 1993 vol 218 c31W
Mr. Maginnis

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what is the incidence for each year since 1986 of detected re-offending by terrorists who have already served(a) one to five years, (b) five to 10 years, (c) 10 years and (d) life sentences.

Sir Patrick Mayhew

Since 1986 there have been four cases, two in 1990 and two in 1992, where individuals sentenced to life imprisonment for terrorist related offences and released on licence have been recalled to prison after re-offending. In all these cases the new offences were not related to organised terrorism.

The rest of the information requested is not readily available and could be obtained only at disproportionate cost.
