§ Mr. Peter LloydIn the nine months up to December 1992, more than 1,000 prisoners had been registered with national vocational qualification (NVQ) awarding bodies, 276 had gained full NVQs and over 3,400 units towards full NVQs had been accredited. Prisoners do, of course, gain NVQs through work and other regime activities as well as through vocational training.
