To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment which statutory provisions ensure the building of water-efficient homes in(a) the public and (b) the private sector.

Water fittings installed in a property must comply with the water byelaws. The byelaws set out requirements for the prevention of waste and contamination of water and regulate plumbing materials and installations. Water companies are responsible for their enforcement.
