§ Mr. Worthington
To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what progress he has made in collating and publishing information on the proportion of British aid directly focused on the alleviation of poverty.
§ Mr. Lennox-Boyd
My reply to the hon. Member for Southampton, Itchen (Mr. Denham) on 29 November, at column313, described the Overseas Development Administration's policy information marker system—PIMS—designed to monitor performance against the seven priority objectives announced by my noble Friend the Minister for Overseas Development, in her speech at the Royal Institute of International Affairs on 18 October. Data from PIMS, including data on performance against ODA' s priority objective of direct poverty reduction, will appear in the ODA section of the "Foreign and Commonwealth Office Departmental Report 1994".
