To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security what action he is taking to make personal pensions attractive across the age range; and if he will make a statement.

I have today published a consultation paper on age-related rebates. The results of this exercise will help to formulate our detailed policy proposals. Copies of the paper have been placed in the Library. The consultation period will end on 15 January 1994.
