§ Mr. ScottThe Government published a consultation document "A consultation on the medical assessment for incapacity benefit" on 1 December. This document, which is freely available, outlines the initial stages in the development of the proposed medical test and seeks comments on how incapacity for work is to be defined and scored. A copy has been placed in the Library. AD comments are most welcome. The results of the consultation and an evaluation exercise will determine how the test is finally framed.
