To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if she will make a statement on fur farming.

Mr. Soames

Welfare conditions are monitored regularly by the state veterinary service and we are seeking European Community legislation to set standards for all fur farms.

Security standards for mink farms are set by the Mink (Keeping) Order 1992.
