§ Mr. Wilson
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what rate of return on(a) existing and (b) new investment he is asking Railtrack to achieve.

§ Mr. Freeman
We are currently discussing with Railtrack the setting of appropriate financial targets including the required rate of return on investment.

§ Mr. Wilson
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what is the total value of assets transferring to the ownership of Railtrack on 1 April 1994.

British Rail, in conjunction with Railtrack and its auditors, is presently working on the identification of the assets to be transferred to Railtrack, and the values to be ascribed to them.
