§ Mr. ScottIn 1991-92, the latest year for which final figures are available, benefit expenditure on war disablement and war widows pensions totalled £842 million. This represented 1.4 per cent. of the Department's total benefit spending of £61,819 million.
In the same year, expenditure on industrial injuries disablement and death benefits totalled £655 million, or 1.1 per cent. of the Department's total spending.
