§ Mr. BayleyTo ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if she will list each privately owned wood in Yorkshire that has received special management grants to provide for public access under the woodland grant scheme; and what is the area of each of these woods and the size of the grant.
§ Mr. JackSpecial management grants are paid for work in those woodlands which are of special value for nature conservation, landscape, public recreation or a combination of these. The provision of public access, by itself, does not qualify for payment of a grant.
Special management grants have been paid in respect of 20 woodlands or estates in Yorkshire the owners of which have indicated that facilities for public recreation or public access would be provided. These are as follows:
