20. Mr. Mackinlay

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland when he last met representatives of the Irish trade unions and the Trades Union Congress to discuss Northern Ireland's employment law, and industrial and economic prospects.

Mr. Atkins

I met representatives of the Northern Ireland Committee of Trade Unions to discuss employment and economic issues on 13 May. There are no plans at present for any further meeting but any such request would be accorded favourable consideration.
