Whether they will update the information concerning Russian and Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) military forces outside the boundaries of the CIS contained in their Written Answer of 13th February 1992 (col. WA 37), indicating where timetables for withdrawal have been agreed and including figures for the 14th Army in the Republic of Moldova.
§ The Minister of State, Foreign and Commonwealth Office (Baroness Chalker of Wallasey)We estimate that there are approximately 97,000 Russian personnel in Germany; 42,000 in the Baltic states; 9,000 in Moldova: less than 4,000 in Poland; less than 1,000 in Cuba; several hundred in Vietnam and none in Mongolia. Withdrawals from Lithuania are to be completed by 31st August 1993, from Poland by 31st December 1993 and from Germany by 31st August 1994. Russian ground forces are expected to be withdrawn from Cuba by mid-1993. No agreement has been reached over Estonia, Latvia or Vietnam.
