HC Deb 22 April 1993 vol 223 c204W
Mr. Peter Robinson

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what is the current size of public debt in Northern Ireland; and by how much it has increased or decreased since May 1991.

Mr. Mates

Provisional figures for the main areas of public sector debt—housing, rates, water, electricity and gas supplies—currently put the level of such debt at some £29.6 million. This represents a decrease of £4.1 million from 31 March 1991. Information for May 1991 is not available.
