To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what is the projected expenditure by his Department on the Agriculture and Food Research Council for each year from 1993–94 to 1996–97.

MAFF's commission with the Agriculture and Food Research Council amounts to £34.8 million in 1993–94. The allocation of funds for 1994–95 to 1996–97 is still under consideration and the council will be notified as soon as decisions have been reached.
