To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what the Northern Ireland social fund discretionary budget will be for 1993–94.

I am glad to be able to announce that the social fund discretionary budget for 1993–94 will be £28.5 million. This is an increase of £3.5 million over the original amount allocated to districts for 1992–93. Details of the allocations are being placed in the Library of both Houses together with a note explaining their basis.
