asked Her Majesty's Government:

What proportion, as a percentage, of all central government revenue from taxation and excise duties is represented by:

  1. (a) income tax
  2. (b) value added tax
  3. (c) capital gains tax
  4. (e) inheritance tax
  5. (f) excise duties on petrol and diesel fuel
  6. (g) excise duties on tobacco
  7. (h) excise duties on wines and spirits
for each year since 1970 and the estimates for the next two years.
