§ Mr. DalyellTo ask the Secretary of State for Scotland, pursuant to his answer of 10 March,Official Report, column 597, when he expects the marine nature conservation review team to conclude its assessment of its visit to Shetland; and if he will put a copy of the assessment in the Library.
§ Sir Hector Monro[holding answer 31 March 1993]: An initial impact assessment bulletin on the oil spill and severe weather conditions during January will be issued by Scottish Natural Heritage in April on request. This will give details of the effects on the marine biota in south Shetland, together with analysis of the effects on the earth science interest in coastal sites of special scientific interest in the area. The final report of the joint team of marine biologists from SNH, the Countryside Council for Wales and the Joint Nature Conservation Committee support unit is also expected in April. Copies of both reports will be placed in the Library.
