§ Mr. PaiceTo ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster if he will make a statement on the progress towards achieving equality of opportunity for women staff in the civil service.
§ Mr. Robert JacksonIn the past year steady progress has been made. For example, there are now more women in the management grades, a wider use of part-time working and flexible working patterns, an expansion of child care provision and more equal opportunities awareness training. This builds further on the achieve-ments of past years. A report on the progress made during 1991–92 towards achieving equality of opportunity for women in the civil service has been published today and I have arranged for copies to be placed in the Library of the House.
