To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what information he has regarding the breaches of the Radioactive Substances Act 1960 by Xidex (UK) Ltd. of Brynmawr, Gwent.

Under the provisions of the Radioactive Substances Act 1960, the chief inspector of Her Majesty's inspectorate of pollution—HMIP—is responsible for deciding in which cases prosecution action may be appropriate. My right hon. Friend and I were informed of legal action planned by the inspectorate against Xidex (UK) Ltd. and the reasons for it.
