HL Deb 19 October 1992 vol 539 c72WA
Baroness Cox

asked Her Majesty's Government:

What views they take over the behaviour of the Independent Television Commission with respect to their religious codes, and the impartiality of the ITC with respect to the religious advertising and sponsorship codes, following publication of the book Hidden Agendas.

Viscount Astor

Programming and advertising codes are the responsibility of the Independent Television Commission, which must interpret its duties under the Broadcasting Act 1990. It is ultimately for the courts to decide whether that interpretation is correct.
