§ Mr. Lennox-BoydWe have no plans to change the auditing arrangements for the Commonwealth Development Corporation. Under the provisions of the CDC Act 1978, as amended in 1982 and 1986, my right hon. Friend the Foreign Secretary is responsible for appointing external auditors and for laying the CDC's annual report and accounts before Parliament. In addition, the CDC is subject to scrutiny by the Monopolies and Mergers Commission.
