§ Dr. SpinkTo ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs how much has been spent in monitoring the progress of UNESCO since the United Kingdom's withdrawal from membership.
§ Mr. Douglas HoggIt would involve disproportionate cost to detail all the costs incurred in following developments at UNESCO since 1985. The main charges are those of a first secretary in Paris and another in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, 50 per cent. of whose duties are devoted to UNESCO; and a locally-engaged member of staff in Paris. The estimated 1991–92 cost of these staff is £143,630.
