§ Mr. JackThe Home Office has a number of policy responsibilities which relate to foreign prisoners. The prison service has the primary responsibility for foreign national prisoners held here and the maintenance of their family ties, and co-ordinates the interests of other Departments of the Home Office; the criminal department has responsibility for extradition and for the policy relating to the repatriation of prisoners; and the immigration service has certain responsibilities for prisoners subject to a deportation order.
