Whether they have been informed of the nature of the long-term plans for Stonehenge and its environs, given that the plans referred to in his Question tabled on 4th November are, according to the application document presented by Messrs 50WA Debenham Tewson and Chinnocks (on behalf of English Heritage and the National Trust) to Salisbury District Council in May 1991, only the "first phase of a comprehensive approach".
Viscount AstorHer Majesty's Government have been informed of the long-term plans for Stonehenge and its environs. These were set out in the outline planning application submitted to Salisbury District Council and now to be examined at a public inquiry scheduled to be held in March 1993. The further phases included the submission of detailed planning applications and implementation of the proposals.
