HC Deb 17 November 1992 vol 214 cc180-1W
Mr. Oppenheim

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what changes she is making to the arrangements for disposing of surplus national health service staff residential accommodation.

Mr. Sackville

We are enhancing the national health service scheme to bring it into closer alignment with the statutory right-to-buy scheme under the housing Acts, and to improve the terms of sale to tenants. In particular, in calculating the discount on the sale price we are allowing health service organisations to take into account previous occupation by the tenant of other public sector accommodation. The new arrangements are set out in a guidance note which we have placed in the Library.
