§ Mr. SalmondTo ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, pursuant to his answer of 5 November,Official Report, column 342, if he will publish the detailed findings of the random slaughterhouse survey of blood samples from sheep and goats carried out under directive 91/68/EC and the results of screening samples for maedi visna; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. SoamesThe slaughterhouse survey for Brucella melitensis, Brucella ovis and Contagious agalactia tested the following numbers of sheep and goats:

From the initial testing of 2,531 samples, 14 were sero-positive for maedi visna. Those batches containing positive samples were tested again. An additional 24 reactors were identified from 703 re-tested samples.
