§ Mr. SackvilleProvisional figures for September 1992 show that there was a total of 939,846 people on national health service waiting lists compared with 958,976 in March 1990, a reduction of 2 per cent. More significantly, the number of patients waiting 12 months or more fell by more than 80,000 to 7.5 per cent. over the same period.
