§ Mr. Gwilym JonesVarious measures are being taken throughout the United Kingdom to reduce nitrogen dioxide emissions, including the fitting of low NOx burners to major coal-fired power plants and new standards for road vehicles. Details are provided in "This Common Inheritance; The Second Year Report"—cm. 2068—which the Government published last month.

In order to gain a better picture of the current position on nitrogen dioxide emission levels in Wales, the Welsh Office is funding a survey of the Principality.
