§ Mr. Gwilym JonesNo information is collected centrally on the number of patients transported by ambulance or the number of ambulance journeys made. However information on the number of patient journeys is collected and is given as follows.

Thus a return journey from a visit to a hospital is counted as a second patient journey and if an ambulance carried six patients at the same time it is counted as six journeys.
