To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what discussions have taken place in the Environment Council during the United Kingdom presidency of the European Council of Ministers on the applications of the cohesion fund to environmental projects, as proposed by draft article 130d of the treaty of Rome, under the treaty of European union.

None. Discussions on the draft regulations to establish the cohesion fund are being pursued in ECOFIN and the Foreign Affairs Council in the context of the review of the Community's future financing.
