§ Mr. MacleanThe additional safeguards for sites of special scientific interest announced by this Government in September 1991 came into effect on 2 January 1992. Guidance to local authorities and others on how our policies for the conservation of our natural heritage are to be reflected in land use planning, and development control, are to be set out in a planning policy guidance note, which will be published shortly.
