§ Mr. Kenneth CarlisleThe chief executive of Forte Restaurants wrote to my right hon. and learned Friend the then Secretary of State on 6 March to explain that his company had stopped work at Birchanger pending completion of the Government's review of motorway service area policy. My right hon. Friend announced the outcome of that review on 6 August, and my officials are to meet the company shortly to discuss a resumption of work at the site.
