HC Deb 03 November 1992 vol 213 c156W
Sir David Steel

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what assessment he has made on the implications for voluntary euthanasia in Scotland of the case of Dr. Cox; and what plans there are for legislative guidelines concerning voluntary euthanasia in Scotland.

Mr. Lang

The Government have no plans to amend the law of Scotland in the light of the case of Dr. Cox. It is a criminal offence to kill another, whether or not that person has consented to the action taken.
