To ask the President of the Board of Trade how many times his officials have met the liquidators of BCCI, with the dates and the purposes of the meetings.

My officials met one or more of the joint liquidators of BCCI on 26 March, 19 May, and 23 July 1992. On each occasion the holding of a meeting of creditors, pursuant to section 141 of the Insolvency Act 1986, was discussed. At the 23 July meeting the exercise by the joint liquidators of their powers under schedule 4, part I and II of the Insolvency Act was also discussed.
