Mr. Llwyd

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will make it his policy to undertake a review into the necessity of primate use in research and testing.

Mr. Charles Wardle

The Animal Procedures Committee, which has a statutory responsibility under the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 to advise the Home Secretary on animal procedures matters, is currently undertaking a review of primate use.
