To ask the Secretary of State for Health how many payments have been made to non-haemophiliacs infected with HIV as a result of NHS blood/tissue transfers, or to families of the deceased, following the announcement by his Department on 17 February that special provisions would be made.

The first applications for payment were received by the Department on 12 May. Applications are being considered individually and decisions will be made as soon as possible.
